Sarah Weir

Director

Sarah Weir serves as a Director on the Kentwood Public Schools Education Foundation Board, currently in her first year of board service.

She brings 16 years of dedicated service to the Kentwood community, having worked closely with Kentwood Public Schools through Kent School Services Network (KSSN) and serving as a KPS student services liaison for a decade. A committed community advocate, Sarah also spent three years on the Kentwood City Planning Commission and holds a Master of Education from Grand Valley State University.

During her tenure supporting McKinney-Vento students and families facing housing instability, Sarah was instrumental in raising awareness, strengthening community support, and helping families secure stable housing — even seeing parents overcome crises to become KPS staff members themselves.

As a proud resident and parent of two KPS students, Sarah is passionate about the district’s inclusive culture. She loves that KPS offers a place of belonging for everyone through its rich diversity of staff, students, and extracurricular programs. On the board, she is especially grateful to champion teacher grants and student participation in the K.I.D.S. program.

Outside of her community involvement, Sarah enjoys public radio, tuning into podcasts, and cheering on her children at their activities. Her favorite way to unwind is spending time outdoors with her family — especially enjoying beach days and hunting for unique rocks.
