Lori Wernlund
Secretary
Lori Wernlund serves as the Secretary of the Kentwood Public Schools Education Foundation, contributing 11 years of dedicated service to the board.
As the Director of the Kentwood Child Development Center, Lori brings extensive leadership experience in early childhood education, notably guiding the center through a major facility renovation during her transition from Assistant Director to Director.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Lori’s commitment to the Foundation is fueled by her belief in the district's ability to prepare students for the "real world" through its diverse environment and wide range of academic offerings. As the mother of two Kentwood graduates, she saw firsthand how the district equipped her daughters with the skills necessary to navigate the challenges of college and their professional careers.
In her personal time, Lori is an avid reader and enjoys creative pursuits such as crafting and refinishing or repurposing wood furniture.
